Our funding for things like apparatus, turnout gear, training, and equipment comes from tax sources. Money from donations is used to provide benefits to the volunteers who give their time. Typically these things include banquets, picnics, holiday parties and even small items to the members (e.g., sweatshirts) that are provided as a way to say thank you to those who volunteer their time, participating in training, and responding to calls.
For those wanting to make a donation, any size donation is greatly appreciated and may be considered tax deductible (consult a tax adviser).
